How do I get songs from my ipod transfered into my empty itunes?

My ipod has aproxx 150 songs and i want to import them into my itunes library, how do i do that? Usually if i have songs in my itunes library it would send the songs into my ipod and delete the others. I’m afraid that if I connect my ipod with an empty itunes, it’d delete y songs. Any suggestions, and no flaming please, that includes saying the zune is better than the ipod.

First you’ll need SharePod. You can download it from
While connecting the iPod, hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys in Windows (or CMD + Option keys on a Mac). This will stop the iPod from auto syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted.
Shut iTunes.
Use it to copy your songs to a specified folder on your hard drive.
Open iTunes with your iPod disconnected(jus to be safe) and import the songs from where you’ve saved it.
….and you’re done!

What you can do is go to. iTunes does not allow you to do this. This download has been tested to be spy ware free by Cnet. If the link does not work simply go to download.com and type in sharepod.
